#67 – Return of the Chalks

What’s happened to Battlefield Podcast, I’m sure you’re all asking.

Battlefield Podcast is no longer a part of Broken Eggs Media, but fear not as an all new episode is just around the corner! Look for episode 67 “Return of the Chalks” to be released during the week of October 7th.

This episode not only marks the introduction of TuxMedia but also the return of Chalk.One and Chalk.Two to the show and you can expect a new format as well.     Great show, I really like the tips. I started with you guy a little late and I was working through the old episodes but with the new change I am having problems finding old episodes.I am a retired CSM after thirty years active army. I did it for real now I do it for fun and your show adds to the fun.

    I dont think its that important to know were is G.I. Jersey. Its ovesous that they had diffences on how to run broken eggs media. because of it there is no more broken eggs media. There diffences is really non of our bisness. That betewn Ole and Mark. But the real creators of the battlefield podcast is sarting up this new podcast. And thats whats important for me. To get a battlefield podcast every week. Get over it everyone. Shit happnes. Ole could of just left it alone and we would of had no battlefield podcast.

    Ole i want to thank you myself for taking you time, and i mean YOUR TIME to give us some battlefield freshness. That right BATTLEFIELD FRESHNESS. So far you show us when shit happens you keep rolling with the punches. Good lesson for some to learn.

    I think we all REALLY appreciate Ole (and Hee)and he knows that but i mean G.I. seemed to have provided the life to the show and the comedy that we all loved this podcast for, because face it, there isn’t much for them to talk about right now in the battlefield world so it gets kind of repetitive and boring at times. *You guys talk about maturity in your last show, well part of maturity is being able to make up with good friends over issues and conflicts like this one and be adults and work things out. Try and work something out between G.I. Jersey and you guys, and it will be for the better of the whole fan base/community. Give him the much deserved second chance ( maybe third or fourth, you get the point) Think of all the laughs and good times you guys had together and if it doesnt work out then move on but at least give it another try for your LISTENERS whom without, you would not have the success you do. If not, GIVE G.I. JERSEY A WAY TO COMMUNICATE WITH HIS FANS AND GIVE US A SEND-OFF MESSAGE FROM HIM. So again we thank you guys but the show is 95% worse off without G.I., not tht you guys aren’t entertaining, but i mean at least DO IT FOR BRUCE!!!!!!!!!!!!! and the BAWLLSSS!!! If not again what makes him “not so good after all” is that your bias or is that something we could agree with you on?     What diffrence would that make. Who know how long this been going on. For us it was a week. But were not behind the seens. This could have been going on for a long time now. We dont know. But what diffrence it going to make to tell us what when down. If you think the podcast is borring now that GIjersey in not around that im sorry to here that. They may be leagle isuses here and Ole can comment what happen. Did you think about that. But if you need to know i can make up some crap….. ok lets see.

    The reson why GIjersey is not with the podcast is becaause Hekwon breath smell so bad that GIjersey could smell it throw the mic all the way to boston. Sorry Heekwon just making up shit to satify the nosie.

    Anyone else can come up with something better? I dont think IceSoldier is going to fall for that one.

    Ole I think you just summed it up, “Battlefield was at its peak about a year ago.”

    I strongly disagree. BF2 is the only game that has kept my attention for such a long period of time. I’m having just as much fun with it now as I did the day I bought it. You on the other hand feel differently and that attitude is reflected in your shows recently.

    The show had a lot of potential to be something really great but it just kept falling short for some reason. I guess I was looking for commentary about playing Battlefield, ie. funny stories, tips, tricks and different experiences from the cast, but that stuff was few and far between. So much time was spent on mod updates, and advertisments and such little time spent just talking about playing the game has totally turned me off.

    I agree with IceSoldier in some regards. GI Jersey breathed some life into the show and at least kept it entertaining with some witty, albeit sometimes corny humor, but I liked him and I appreciated his enthusiasm and effort. I’m dissapointed in you all that you failed to see the big picture here and the potential that the show had. I mean really Ole, you even admit you don’t even play that much anymore. What fun is listeneing to someone talk about BF2 who doesn’t even bother to play the game on a regular basis?

    I don’t care what happened between you guys, I’m sure you all have your reasons, but one day I hope you all realize that doing the best thing for the show may not be the best thing for you personally and only when that type of sacrifice is given would the show have ever succeeded.

    I have listened to every episode you have done and I will listen to next weeks show, but if it is of the same quality as this weeks I regret to say that I will no longer be a listener.

    I guess I have to aggree with Mudbutt and IceSoldier on this one. I mean if you are not really interested in the show, you don’t play the game, and you think battlefield podcast hit it’s peak a year ago then whats the point in doing the show?

    Now don’t get me wrong guys I am not telling you to stop recording, but you are coming accross in the way that your not really interested about the show anyway and your just doing it for something to do. The hosts make the show and if you guys aren’t intestest in what your talking about how do you expect us to be interested in you and what you are talking about?

    Just an FYI everyone it looks like broken eggs media is still around as there are a few sites still listed like the http://www.brokeneggsmedia.com site is up as is the http://www.xboxpodcast.com and the http://www.wowpodcast.com they seem to be only up as under construction but up never the less.

    Dragon, Mudbutt and Icesoldier. The conversations is getting old if you have a problem send in an email complaint dont drag out this conversation here anymore Nobody else cares. Everyone else is enjoying the show and taking it it stride. If you like broken eggs go there and talk with them and stop causing dissention to the real fans of the podcast.

    Just one comment on my comment on BF’s peak… all games go through a cycle. In my opinion BF hit its high about a year ago with the release of 2142 and shortly after Armored Fury. Since then there has been no new content from official sources, except Northern Strike, which is much better than the BF2 booster packs in my opinion.

    O please, this isn’t new, its just the battlefield podcast under a different company name with a boring new website. Now, obviously there are other people who agree and I’m not trying to start a riot here or anything, believe me I APPREICIATE EVERYTHING YOU GUYS DO, but, mud and twoheaded are making good points that I am with them on.

    *We aren’t asking you to stop the show, we are just asking you to try and take it out of the slump that it has been in and bring back to what it was and that is ABOUT THE GAME!* Mods are great but there is too much time spent on the mods in a show and it would be nice if we could get like gameplay talk. Enough Apache on Ghost town!!!! Talk about all the different weapons and vehicles and maps in BOTH games, their strengths weaknesses and then ask our opinions etc.

    And as great as BF2 is, you desperately need alot more knowledge and playtime on 2142, I mean it is the most current version of the game and most polished. What about like the other guys who were filling in for you when you guys were out like Rich I believe it was and etc.? If your gona host a show about a game that has infinite possibilites and how no one round is the same, then you need to carry that freshness over to the show! Keep us interested give us something to actually make the effort to go over and vote for you guys at digg etc. If you can’t have G.I. then make it as fun as it was without him there like he was there.

    Ole- what is G.I. Jersey’s email please?

    The People Disagreeing- I think it is good to talk about this, the podcast is going through a change and tough time so we need to discuss this and get the thoughts from the fellow listeners. We decide wheather this show lives or not because without listeners they are wasting their time. So different oppinions are good and they help find a common solution down the road. This is very important that we help the Chalks with our personal opinions and ideas in order for them to make the show enjoyable and great again, its too much work for them to try and decide on what everyone will like.

    If this upcoming episode shows SIGNIFICANT progress, then I will shut up but if it is more of the same, then this needs to go on until it is fixed.

    One last personal question, Will we see Bruce again???

    I agree that the show has to change in some regards and that’s what we are working on. I don’t think Bruce will be back, no. I personally can’t wait to see Bad Company because honestly I think we’ve talked strategies and weapon tips, etc, etc, to death in the previous 60 odd episodes. Anyways, 68 will be out tomorrow and in my opinion it’s better than 67, but everyone will have to see for themselves.

    Also, yes Bad Company or another booster pack to 2142 could save this podcast. That is, if you guys are willing to play Bad Comapny if it turns out to be for consoles only (PS3, 360, etc.)

    P.S. Ole- now i’m not asking wheather he is or not, i’m asking if YOU PERSONALLY think that G.I. Jersey might try to start a rival battlefield podcast??? A little competition might make it better for us the lsiteners just as it does in the gaming world in general.

    Poco just so you know I am not IceSoldier or anyone else, why I even need to explain that to you I don’t know but I have been a listener since day one and have contributed to the show several times via e-mail, odio and even joined the frappr map. I believe Ole can attest to that I think he remembers me. I don’t know why your so defensive when a few of us are just asking some basic questions and giving our feedback. Isn’t that what Ole asked from us in the last show? Your posts have been borderline hostile and hardly make much sense with your poor grammer. Ease up a little bit Poco and allow people to express how they feel and ask questions. That’s what these message boards are for aren’t they?
